By learning to train smart, our athletes are maximally prepared both physically and mentally for their sport. At SJSC, our coaches are able to get maximal work capacity and effort out of the athletes by using positive reinforcement while developing trust and respect over the course of the session. The training environment is one that fosters intensity, drive, and focus which transfers over to each athletes sport once the season begins.

*Momentum-
Big, hypertrophied muscles alone won’t provide power and speed. To optimize these qualities, an individual must learn to properly use their body’s momentum. We use momentum in sports and in our daily movements, but for some reason, most training programs don’t incorporate or capitalize on the significance of including momentum in their training. Effectively harnessing momentum allows the body to easily make directional changes while in motion. You will learn techniques that enable the body to efficiently load its muscles to harness momentum for greater power, speed, and injury prevention.
*Pattern Recognition-
All movements- from walking to SportCenter’s top ten highlights, are all chain reactions that take place in the human body. Every sport has a set toolbox of actions, and every motion has correct patterns the body should follow. Understanding the patterns of the task at hand help the body move properly and efficiently. We have learned how to analyze and evaluate the movement patterns of our clients and athletes in their given activities; And how pattern recognition is used to train and retrain the body to move efficiently.
*Transformational Zones-
Transformational Zones are essentially snapshots of movement. This is when the body transfers its muscular loading to muscular exploding, and it depends on the understanding of how to “Celerate”- both Decelerate and Accelerate. For example, swinging a baseball bat or golf club requires loading up to prepare for the swing, exploding during the swing, and then loading to slow down the force of the swing (Deceleration). We teach our athletes and clients techniques for training the body to powerfully and efficiently transfer muscular loading to muscular exploding.
*Locomotion and Movement Acquisition-
There is a proper pattern to all movement and motor programs that the human body is designed to follow, however limiting factors- such as poor posture, underused, tight and weak muscles, and brain injuries: Can cause the body to deviate from these natural patterns, leading to a lack of control over movement. By understanding the different factors involved in how the body is propelled, effective movements can be learned or re-learned through pattern recognition. Under the guidance of SJSC, our clients will learn how to utilize the principles of locomotion and movement acquisition to train and retrain the body to understand and implement efficient motor programs automatically.
*Sequencing-
To kick a ball or climb up a flight of stairs, all the muscles in the body must work together and fire in a sequential order. When something breaks down in the chain reaction, movement not only becomes ineffecient, but also creates the potential to cause both technical and physical problems. With the proper training, you will gain a better understanding of how movement traverses through the body and how sequencing creates more powerful, effecient, and pain-free movements.
*Efficiency-
The less energy exerted while performing a skill or task, the more efficient the movement. Mobility- the right amount of flexibility- plays a major role in enabling an individual to maintain effective and efficient movement during execution of the task at hand. Learn the techniques that decrease the body’s internal resistance to allow efficient movement.
*Understanding the Role of the Foot-
As the first link in the chain, the foot is the most important factor in determining how the body moves. there are 26 bones in each foot, and there are 206 total bones in the human body. Which means a quarter of all your bones are in your feet. Most movements start with the feet interacting with the ground, and each body segment must transfer energy efficiently to the next, starting from the ground up. When limiting factors are present in the foot, every movement will deviate from its natural sequence and the body will not load optimally. With SJSC you will learn how correcting problems in the foot opens up a whole new world of performance and relief.
*Proprioceptive Re-Education-
